Hi everyone.

Brand new newbie from Sydney-ish.

I was recommended SnB by a friend and ended up buying it on eBay.  I loved it so much, I ordered SnB Nation within a week and am thinking about the handbook and maybe the Happy Hooker book once I'm comfortable with knitting - I'm totally and utterly addicted!  I just can't get over the idea of taking a string of yarn and creating items.  It's awesome!

I currently have one bootie done, a second on the needles, a 3/4 finished scarf and I'm going shopping tomorrow for some needles and substitute yarn for the baby blanket and the umbilical cord hat.

I'm also dreaming about knitting.  There's a shop in my dreams that I've never actually been to, but I keep returning there in my dreams - I collect yarn and patterns there.  Last night's pattern was for stripey ponchos for goldfish to wear!  Ok, so maybe not practical, but obviously the knitting obsession is pervading my brain  Grin

^Cool.
I was rehearsal on monday night, and one of the teen chorus members asked what I was knitting. I told her that I was making a tank top, and she told me that she only knows three stitches that she learned from a teen knitting book. I recommended the first two snb books, and she revealed that she had the Happy Hooker.
I always recommend the first two snb books before I recommend anything else. I just love them!

Hi fellow Aussie Knitters...new member from Newcastle here.  Been knitting for years, but hoping to develop some new skills and start designing my own stuff.  Anyone seen a copy of this book...

http://www.amazon.com/Knitted-Lace-Estonia-Techniques-Traditions/dp/1596680539

...anywhere in NSW?  I've had such a hard time getting a copy of it and since Ive just discovered and fallen in love with lace knitting Im just dying to get my busy lil fingers on it.

Loving the support and encouragement I'm seeing in the forum.  Nice job people   Cheesy
