I really want to start a group in lovely Manchester (Oop North of t'England) but I have never met a single other knitter in this whole damn city. Get in touch if you're a Manc knitter and are interested in starting a SnB, or if you know of an existing one.
Much love, Carrie

Hiya,
I am a Manc knitter. Ha ha Didn't know anything about the whole knitting world on the web. I've just discovered it. I'm new to knitting too - but can't get enough. Are you North or South Manchester?
Fab - great to hear there's another knitter in Manchester - there must be loads of us. Sorry though - I don't know of any groups. love Cassie.

Hi Carrie,
Thanks for posting the link - I've had a good look on the site. Can't see anything recent - so I've sent them an email to check if they're still knitting. Their blanket must be huge by now!!! I too am South - Burnage. No wool shops round here though. Have you got any suppliers you can recomend? - up to now I tend to hang around on Ebay for any yarn bargains. Just had a pack of needles through the post - so im giddy about trying them out!
Anyway nice to chat with you - it's good to spread the knitting word.

Heh heh heh so funny you say that..the nightmare I have finding supplies. Theres a shop in East Didsbury but I haven't been there for about a year because it was pretty expensive, other than that, nada. I get all mine from ebay too. There are the occassional bargains. Just got a bag of 10 balls rowan cotton for ?13...and its purple mmmm! It arrived this morning and to be honest I'm starting to wonder how normal it is for a 21 year old girl to get so excited over yarn..
I'm gonna try and track the manchester knitters down too so who knows, maybe see you there!

Ha ha I wouldn't worry about the yarn thing - anyway your purple cotton yarn sounds gorgeous, who cares if people probably think you're a bit wacky - ha ha only joking!
Do you ever go charity shopping for knitting items? I tend to buy most of my needles from the charity shops, I don't see so much yarn though. Just got some circular needles, which I can't wait to give a go. Never used them so it should be fun. I had a big bundle of different sizes for ?3. Thought I might try socks.
Anyway, yes, hope to see you at the group.
Cassie.

hiya-
there is a knitting group going right now in Manchester, at the Eighth Day ( a vegetarian store and cafe. www.eighth-day.co.uk/) We meet every other Wednesday, 5:30-8. Next meeting is the 1st. Join us! Smiley
Also, I find the "Sew-In" shop to be quite nice. One in Didsbury and another in Marple:www.knitting-and-needlework.co.uk/
cheers!
