Very nice! And lucky-lucky on the dryer experiment working out well. I personally would be a little afraid of felting (a concept i admittedly do not fully understand yet, but which i know to be related to heat and movement on damp fabric).

The yarn I used was superwash merino, which generally does okay in the dryer.  Even non-superwash merino sometimes benefits from a little dryer time, especially if it is getting too stretchy.  However, too much dryer time can result in shrinkage.  Felting, on the other hand, occurs in the washer, courtesy of the agitation.

I used Baby Zarina Print, but any sock-weight yarn will do.
